100 Year Celebration Postponed to 2022

College Celebration set for 2022- Celebrating 101 Years

What’s better then celebrating your school turning 100? Celebrating it turning 101 of course!

That’s the approach the organising committee of the 100 Year Celebration of Higher Education at Camperdown College took when faced with strict Covid 19 guidelines hampering their plans for a grand celebration in October this year.

With border closures, travel restrictions and strict density limits, organisers say it just wouldn’t be right to hold the event when so many people couldn’t be present.

“We’ve had an overwhelming response of past students and families wanting to attend; local, metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate” explained Principal Cherie Kilpatrick. “While they can’t get here we just can’t hold the event”.

The postponed event schedule for the weekend remains the same and all tickets purchased to the High Tea and School Social will be transferred over to the new dates of 15th and 16th October, 2022.

“We value the ability of all past students in being able to attend the celebration so greatly and we’re dedicated to making the event accessible to everyone. We’re hoping by postponing the event into 2022 we can make that happen” Ms Kilpatrick explained.

Organisers are determined to not let the actual date go unnoticed this year with plans still in place for a scaled back celebration with students on Campus.

“The date of 14th October, 2021 is still a very special milestone on the calendar for Camperdown and we have decided to continue with the installation of commemorative pavers and have opened up another round of orders” said Ms Kilpatrick.

“We’re also continuing with a Portrait Competition of a past or present member of the school community from the past 100 years and have extended the closing date to 29th October 2021” Ms Kilpatrick said.
